In any classroom differentiated instruction is very important. No student learns the same way and it is important to acknowledge all the unique ways of learning in your classroom. without differentiation there would be many students who fell through the cracks and would no be as successful in your classroom.
Using technology to differentiate instruction is becoming more and more prevalent in classrooms. Assistive technology can be used with students who have cognitive difficulties, physical impairments or even learning disabilities.

Reading
Listening
Math
Organization
Memory
This article focuses on identifying students needs and comparing them to what technology programs offer. First, diagnosing what the students learning needs are and than mapping the programs objectives to the students learning needs is important to student success. This articles gives eight questions to ask when evaluating a technology program for use within a differentiated classroom. These questions will help teachers decide whether or not the program will help their student succeed.
This article has 3 main focuses; changing classrooms, fostering engagement and educational barriers. Changing classrooms discusses the need for teachers to understand that learners are entering the classroom with very different needs. It is our job as educators to "understand their students' needs, strengths and backgrounds, and use this knowledge to help the learners reach their full potential while adapting to community" and technological changes. In the fostering engagement section stresses the need for educators to "take learners needs and interests into account and use tools such as popular culture, technology and differentiated instruction to foster engagement and ensure success for all." Overall this article speaks truth about what needs to happen in classrooms in order to have the optimal classroom environment for all learners.
Although this article is geared towards secondary education it gives a lot of great information on using technology to differentiate science instruction. This article lists different items that count as using technology like digital cameras, digital media, simulation spreadsheets and many more. Throughout this article it stresses the importance of integrating technology to support instruction whenever possible. The second half of the article discusses the goals for differentiated instruction using technology. It states that the main goal is to ensure that all students have access to well-designed curriculum and have many opportunities to succeed.
