This is a guide to set baseline expectations and offer support in using technology as a learning tool. It will allow teachers a way to self-reflect upon technology usage growth and integration as part of their individual PD Plan. It will also serve as a way for teachers and students to collaborate and support each other in the learning process based upon individual levels of expertise.
SAMR stands for substitution, augmentation, modification, and redefinition, and it is a model designed to help educators integrate technology into their classrooms more meaningfully and effectively. This presentation explains the SAMR Model and gets teachers thinking about it before partaking in the SAMR Activity Strips activity (below).
Have teachers go through the following levels of SAMR and then try to match the activity strips to the corresponding SAMR level.
This graphic shows how the DOK levels or skills within Bloom's Taxonomy aligns with the SAMR Model.
