Spark "Hope" Poster Project
Project Theme & Content Requirements
- Theme: "Hope"
- Find a quote from an author from GoodReads
- Create a poster using Adobe Spark Post
- Select "Widescreen 16:9" as your document dimension
- Use Creative Commons photos only
- Poster must include at least one quote and one image
- When you are finished with the design:
- Download the image to your local drive
- Import the image to this Padlet wall
- And upload it to our shared Google Folder.
Project Steps & Instructions
1 | Find your quote!
2 | Click the + Button
3 | Scroll to the bottom
4 | Click “Create Graphic” button
5 | Click “Start from Scratch”
6 | Click “Standard”
7 | Choose “Widescreen” size
8 | Skip adding a photo

2 | Check out some of the design
options by clicking “Design” icon
3 | Check out some of the layout options by clicking “Layout” icon
1 | Double click on the text to add your quote
2 | Click the “Add” button to add another text block for the attribution info
3 | Click the “Add” button to add for your name
4 | Move the text boxes around
5 | Change the text size, letter spacing, line spacing, format, opacity, etc.
1 | Think about the kind of image you want.
2 | Click the “Add” button and select “Photo”
3 | Click the “Find free photos”
4 | This will search Pixabay and UnSplash for Creative Commons free to use images
5 | Manipulate the image (resize, move around, recolor, change opacity, etc.)
1 | Finalize your design!!
2 | Play around with other designs
3 | Change the layout
4 | Change the colors of the text, background, and image
5 | Move things around
Exporting & Uploading
In Spark Post, click the [Download] button located at the top right of the window.
Make sure that "Image" is selected.
Click the [Start Download] button.
Go to the Padlet.
Click the [+] icon located at the bottom right of the Padlet wall.
Click the "Upload" button.
Click [Pick File] then locate your file from the "Downloads" folder
Insert text in the space provided. In this case, type in the quote and author's name.
Click anywhere on the Padlet wall to 'publish' the post.
Lastly, we'd like to have these images in their full resolution. Upload your image into our Google Drive folder, see animation to the right.
