Google My Maps allows you to create and save a map that has layers, points of interest, routes, shapes, add text, images, and even YouTube videos to your points on the map and shapes, and import info from a spreadsheet.
Learning Opportunities:
Go to your Drive > Click "New" > "More" > "Google My Maps"
Go to google.com/mymaps
* All your maps will be saved in your DriveLabel your pins, shapes, and lines.
Add:
➡ Label
➡ Images or video
➡ Text
➡ Links
Customize your pins (color & icon).
Customize your shapes (color, transparency, and border width).
Don't forget to "Set default view" of your map!
Set your map on the screen to where you want the starting view to be, click on the three dot icon and click "Set default view".
Other cool features include styling your objects based on data. Within a layer you can go to "Individual styles" and choose how the style will be applied.
Example: You put in the description in a set of pins a number and then style based on "description", this will style the pin based on its number.
