This clip is from a film baseed on one of the most famous of Charles Dicken's novels -Oliver Twist. This scene takes place near the beginning of the story.

In it, the main character - Oliver - is an orphan who is being brought up in an orphanage. He has a very hard life and the children are given very little food and are beaten if they do not follow the rules. Oliver has been chosen by the other boys to approach the cook and ask for more food.

After you have watched the clip, imagine that you are Oliver. You have been asked by the other boys to go and ask for more food. You know that it will not end well for you and that you will probably be beaten, but you are
