2020-2021 Season

These seasons were unique for every team. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in the 2020 season only a couple weeks of competitions were able to be completed before quarantines started. Our team was scheduled for two competitions in 2020, but unfortunately both of them were cancelled. In 2021, most of the challenges were the same. The same target, same field, and same requirements for the robot. It was a continuation of the 2020 season except that there were still no in-person competitions, there were at home challenges instead.

Our Robot

Our robot had many features to help it succeed in the 2020 competitions, and At Home Challenges.

  • Intake system

  • Processor

  • Angle Shooter

  • Climb Mechanism (removed for 2021)

Our robot about to complete the Galactic Search Challenge

At Home challenges

There were 5 challenges to participate in: Galactic Search, AutoNav, Hyperdrive, Interstellar Accuracy, and POWER PORT. The challenges were different from normal competitions because you weren't on an alliance. Each team completed the challenge on it's own, and recorded a video to be sent in an judged. Each team was a part of a group that competed against each other, and the best scorers in the group earned awards.

CAD

Our CAD team this year was exceptional. Using Onshape the CAD team was able to put the entire robot into the most detailed CAD design we've ever had. Not only are the major parts represented, every screw and nut on the robot is in its place.

Autonomous Award

The programming team went above and beyond making many of our challenges autonomous. The shooting challenges were done autonomously with players feeding balls to the robot, and the robot aiming and shooting on its own. This as well as the robots vision system helped earn the Autonomous Award.
