2017 Season

Preparation for the 2017 FRC season was extensive. After meeting teams at Worlds and comparing what we do to what they accomplish throughout the season, we became inspired and decided it was time to change the dynamics of our team. We held elections where officers were chosen by the team to fill new sub-team positions, and we decided it was best for our team to switch to a co-presidency instead of having one student leader. Dividing the labor allows for the co-presidents to focus on either their technical or nontechnical subdivisions, therefore increasing efficiency and making sure everyone is accounted for.

Building Twin Robots

Before this year, we faced the common problem of running out of time at the end of build season and not being able to practice driving our bot. So, we decided to build it a twin, creating an exact replica of the robot in the same 6-week build period and using one as the competition bot and one as the practice bot.

Building a second practice robot was a great decision, as it gave us an opportunity to practice driving and make any modifications to it that we may implement on the day of competition.
