In 2014, I traveled to Costa Rica with a group of grade 10 and 11 students. This trip focused on environmental sustainability. We were based in the foothills of Costa Rica's grand Miravalles Volcano, with daily discussions with experts about geothermal, wind, solar and hydroelectric energy production.
In our second week, we traveled to the Carribean coast to a meaningful service opportunities at a research centre for sea turtles and learned about the efforts of scientists and conservationists protecting these endangered creatures.
