Resum
The starting point of this work is a research on the Parisian fashion of the thirties. The theoretical part explains the change of women’s clothing due to the evolution of the society, the reason for a more functional fashion, that was evolving towards the liberation of the female silhouette. It also deals with the ideal beauty and dress new patterns, modifying the fabrics to find a style with functionality to be able to do housework more comfortably, all with the help of iconic characters of the time, such as Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, Elsa Schiaparelli and Madeleine Vionnet.
The practical part -the elaboration of a dress of that time- is based on a manual that methodologically explains the key points for design an outfit, how to capture an idea on paper, how to take measurements, draw patterns, buy, mark, cut and sew each piece. The conclusions of my work focus on the great difficulty of making a single piece with these methods, and on the society’s lack of knowledge about this artisanal trade.
El punt de partida del meu treball és la moda femenina al París dels anys trenta: els canvis en la indumentària, el protocol del vestuari i l’evolució d’altres aspectes com els accessoris, la idea de bellesa i la indústria de la moda. S’analitza com va avançar el vestuari degut a l’evolució de la societat, que es va reflectir en una moda més funcional, que alliberava la silueta de les dones. També es van modificar les teles, per trobar un estil més funcional, que permetia moure’s amb més comoditat. Alguns personatges van tenir un paper fonamental, com Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, Elsa Schiaparelli i Madeleine Vionnet.
En la part pràctica he confeccionat jo mateixa un conjunt segons les pautes de la moda estudiada en la part teòrica. He utilitzat un manual per prendre mesures, dibuixar patrons, comparar, marcar, tallar i cosir cada peça. He pogut constatar les dificultats que comporta l’elaboració de peces de vestir amb aquesta metodologia tan artesanal i el desconeixement actual sobre aquest ofici.
