Starting from an interest in assisted human reproduction, the objective of this project is to study the principal reproduction techniques. In addition, to investigate the principal psychological effects caused by the techniques studied. The procedures chosen to be analyzed are in vitro fertilization and artificial insemination.

On the one hand, a survey was conducted to obtain information about the assisted reproduction psychological effects in people. And on the other hand, the project is complemented with specialized research obtained in the Girexx Clinic laboratories. In conclusion, the analysis of the survey results shows the psychological impact of fertility treatments on people, not as big as I had expected. Women and men are affected the same way. Feelings such as culpability, frustration, impotence and hope appear in most cases. The evolution of some of these feelings can lead to anxiety and depression. This has let us prove the importance of having psychological support during all the procedures.

Aquest treball té com a objectius estudiar les principals tècniques de reproducció assistida i els efectes psicològics que tenen en les pacients i en les seves parelles. L’estudi es divideix en dues parts. Per una banda, se centra en les diferents fases de les dues tècniques estudiades: la inseminació artificial i la fecundació in vitro. Ambdós mètodes s’expliquen amb la informació i les imatges recollides a la Clínica Girexx. Per altra banda, es comenten les conseqüències psicològiques més importants dels diversos tractaments, a través de l’anàlisi de les enquestes realitzades. Els resultats mostren que els tractaments de fertilitat produeixen un impacte psicològic igual en els dos membres de la parella. Predominen sentiments com frustració, decepció i culpa i cal destacar que, en alguns casos, l’evolució d’aquestes emocions pot arribar a convertir-se en ansietat o depressió. Aquest fet demostra la importància de tenir un bon suport psicològic durant tot el procés.
