Accreditation & Financial Aid

It is recognized that there are multiple pathways to obtain program approval for CBE programs through the SACSCOC Substantive Change process. The recommendations provided in the Options for Approving CBE Programs chart are based on consideration of Competency-Based Education by Course/Credit-based Approach - Institutional Approval as the most efficient option.

Direct Assessment approval requires a larger commitment of time and monetary resources and
requires a SACSCOC site visit and DOE approval for Title IV funds.
