About TSOM

The Taupo School of Music (TSOM) is a Charitable Institution founded in 1989, spearheaded by two locals, Elizabeth Marshall and the late Ingulf Revfiem. Their mission was to offer music lessons that were affordable and accessible to Primary and Intermediate aged children living in Taupō.

At the Taupō School of Music, instrumental tuition is offered in small groups of up to six pupils. Lessons are held at Taupō Primary School on Tuesdays from 3.30pm-6.00pm, during the school term. TSOM Principal Jo Paull (pictured left) and Coordinator Sarah Monro (pictured right), can be found in the TSOM office (the room next to Room 12), every Tuesday afternoon. The office is located just inside the Horomatangi Street entrance of Taupō Primary School.

In addition to weekly lessons, there are three ensembles under the umbrella of TSOM. They are the Keynotes Choir, the Youth Strings Orchestra and the Youth Wind Band.
