Alberts Music and the Tony Foundation held the official launch of the Music Education: Right from the Start initiative in Melbourne on Monday 12 September.
This initiative has been some years in the making and ASME and other associations have been involved along the way. Two ASME members, Dr Rachael Dwyer and Dr Jason Goopy, are part of the Knowledge Base Working Group that has been working hard behind the scenes to help make this happen.
On Alberts 'news page' they state "Our primary teachers need to be trained and supported if they are to be both confident and competent in delivering music education and, if we are to meet the expectations of a quality music education, increased investment is needed over time if we are to ensure that there are specialist music educators."
