Writing experiments.
I often make sense of my ruminating thoughts through writing. I've been writing poems since high school – my technique, imagery and lyricism evolving with me as I grow older. This style of low-stakes, reflective/confessional writing allows me to play with language, meaning, and sometimes even how things appear on the page.
This also informs my scriptwriting and process. I like when my scripts read lyrically or at least have a flow. I also enjoy exploring rhythms in speech of how my characters talk and think – through exercises in writing short bursts of poems from their perspective or embodiment in a scene.
