This section will contain various Tech Info & Tips
I am still figuring this one out... but here is what I know so far...
It is far easier to connect your Lovense toys to Microsoft Windows using:
Lovense Bluetooth Adapter (a.k.a. " Dongle") - $12 ... at: Amazon ... Lovense
Lovense Software ... (be sure to check out the "Learn More" & "Setup Guide" videos)
Lovense Browser (Based on Google Chrome)
Another option is to install the Lovense Extension into Chrome, or Firefox.
Lovense Connect (Windows App)
Allows you to make the connection between your toys and the browser.
Changes (tip settings, etc.) are made by logging into your Lovense Account through the Browser Extension.
Problems w/ Lovense Connect
In the Browser Extension configuration... If under "Toy Status" you see the message "Lovense Connect not detected" ... try running the "Setup Wizard" again.
Below are some images illustrating this.
The above is the simplest minimum compliment / configuration to get your Lovense Toy going at sites like Chaturbate (the only place I have tried to use it). I am guessing the above also applies to the Mac OS. I also run Linux, but Lovense toys are not supported with that OS (operating system).
Beyond the below images are some notes I have collected on the various software options & suggestions from Lovense. This content may change as I get more knowledge & experience with this stuff.
Even though Lovense Connect was running and operating properly (my toys were connected and responding to tests correctly)... the Lovense Browser Extension did not recognize this.
I experienced this problem... in MS-Win-10 (on an inexpensive [<$500] Acer Laptop PC).
Running the Setup Wizard again...
In the Browser Extension...
Was the Fix
The "Step-By-Step" user guide, FAQ, various web web searches, etc... were all completely useless in fixing this problem.
Below are some screenshots with notes illustrating the situation... and fix.
Above Image ... The Problem = "Lovense Connect not detected."
:-(
Above Image... Run the Wizard to fix the "Connect" detection problem.
Problem = "Please Start Lovense Connect"
... even though that app is running, the Browser Extension does not see it.
:-|
Above Image ... "Connect" is properly associated with the Browser Extension... and your toys are listed.
Based on the Chaturbate.com chat system interface...
Lovense Browser
I have not (yet) been able to successfully install the Lovense Extension into my usual Chrome Browser... so I just use the Lovense Browser... it looks and feels the same, and is ready to go.
Lovense Connect
I have only successfully used the Lovense Connect App in MS Windows.
There is also a Mac OS, iOS, & Android version.
Using the Android or iOS (i.e. "handheld device") versions can let you work around getting the "Dongle", but I found that route far to frustrating. (i.e. Get the "dongle" instead.)
Lovense Dongle / "USB Bluetooth Adapter"
If you want to save yourself a lot of trouble & frustration... then get this (proprietary hardware) adapter.
Your Lovense Toys will NOT work with the Bluetooth function of your desktop or Laptop PC (Windows or Mac).
You MUST get this adapter to use your Lovense Toys directly with your PC.
Lovense Smart Cam
I have yet to figure out what the benefit of this is. The image is low resolution and grainy, and choices seem limited.
Apparently this allows you to add some bells & whistles to your broadcast, but I think the OBS route does that better.
I have had better results Broadcasting at Chaturbate using the (usual) Adobe "Flash" extension (typically already in Chrome, or Firefox).
OBS Toolset / OBS Studio ... (Open Broadcaster Software)
Still working in this one. If you can get it going. it offers some super slick options.
I was able to run OBS Studio more successfully in Linux Mint, but I cannot get my toys connected in Linux. (So I just use the "Flash" broadcast option.)
My main two cams were:
Logitech C910 HD Pro
Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000
Logitech is an excellent brand. Anything around $100 should work nicely.
Currently (Fall 2019) the Logitech C922 is an excellent choice, as it allows OBS connectivity.
The following links will take you to a G-Drive file on the topic.
