SMART Snacks

Terra Academy participates in the National School Lunch program. The USDA has a list of guidelines that snacks in the school must follow, these snacks are called ‘smart snacks’.

All snacks provided by a classroom for the class should comply with the SMART snack standards. A student does not need to comply with SMART snacks when they bring a snack for themself.

There are three allotted days per year where classroom snacks do not need to be SMART snack compliant.

Halloween
Valentine’s Day
The day before winter break
