Putting it together

The search we have just created in Medline is essentially just 3 separate searches.  We now need to join it together.  

We want to only see papers that contain ALL 3 of these concepts.  To do that we need to use the joining operator AND

If you look at the diagram below you can see there is a tiny overlap between the two topics, this overlap is the area in which we are interested.

To do this in our search we need to select all three lines and join them by clicking the AND button

You can see that you have now created a new line showing your combined resuts (line 4)

Once you are happy with your results you can use the available options to save the search, email yourself the results, export the results to a reference manager such as EndNote, or set up regular alerts.
