Updates for October:
🥫 Pantry Update: Community, Care & Fresh Food
We’ve had a busy and brilliant few weeks at the pantry, and we’re excited to share what’s been happening!
💡 Cans for a Cause
We’re currently collecting cans—not just for storage, but to help us purchase fresh food for the pantry. Every donation helps us stock up on essentials for local families.
👶 Thrive Under Five
Our “Thrive Under Five” initiative is now running! Families with children under 12 living locally can access 12 free shops in the pantry. There are a few eligibility requirements, but just pop in and ask for Tracy—She'll be happy to explain how it works.
🤝 Building Connections at Barclays
Shelagh and Tracy recently attended an open day at Barclays, where they connected with fantastic organisations including SAMH. It was a valuable experience for all —and we even recruited some brilliant volunteers to support our upcoming Spirit of Christmas campaign!
🍎 Fresh Fruit & Veg Thanks to Local Support
We’ve had amazing feedback from customers who are thrilled with the amount of fresh produce available. Huge thanks to M&S Silverburn, Newton Mearns, and Lidl Barrhead for their generous donations of fruit and veg—your support makes a real difference.
🍽️ Challenge Poverty Week
During Challenge Poverty Week, the Pantry Network provided boxed meals for our customers to prepare at home. The feedback was fantastic—families found the kits easy to cook and perfect for kids.
