The Mil Mi-24, NATO reporting name Hind, is a Soviet-produced attack helicopter and one of the most fearsome military helicopters in the world. It serves as a gunship helicopter, attack helicopter as well as low-capacity troop transport, and with the capability to play all said roles at once, it has no direct NATO counterpart. The helicopter was produced by Mil Moscow helicopter plant and was operated since 1972 by the Soviet Air Force and its successors, as well as by 48 other nations.
