Lore
Battle of the Celtic Sea (Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts)
An unexpected battle took place in 1916, after the Entente blockade at the English channel was awkwardly broken. SMS Lothringen passed through the English channel with escorts at night and not without a Royal Navy and Marine Nationale pursuit. Lothringen however, was able to pass through these waters much farther while the Royal Navy was distracted by other naval actions.
Lothringen goes out to the Atlantic to initiate commerce raiding. Two patrolling British ships- heavy cruiser HMS Cumberland and light cruiser HMS Persian- spotted the Lothringen and opened fire. Lothringen spotted the two ships minutes later and returned fire. The battle then continues, which ends with Cumberland taking serious damage while the Persian sank. Lothringen takes minor damage and escapes out to sea.
