We have multiple uses for your character's stats! Some depend on your character's rank.
Special events happen periodically but the following are available year round!
HP is covered on the About Stats page and the rate at which a character naturally regains it. This is tracked in the Healing Log where healing can be expedited by any of the clan's healers!
All healers and healer apprentices are allowed a single roll in the Healer's Log per day providing there are cats with missing HP to heal.
Each cat missing HP can only be rolled for once per day. Healers are allowed to heal themselves.
Based on their healing roll, they are then allowed to roll how much HP the character they are healing recovers.
Healing successes are tracked in the Healing & Hunting page of the Player Handbook! Upon 5 successes, the healer will earn a point of INT! Once maxed out on INT, the character will then be able to earn INN. If both reach 100, the character always rolls at least 1d4 when healing others.
The chart to the right can also been found on the Healing & Hunting page!
In the Prey Pile, successful hunts are recorded bringing up the PP (Prey Points). The amount of PP needed to feed the clan varies based on how many cats of each rank there are and if any cats are nursing or pregnant.
The number of PP required for the moon can be found in the Player Handbook on the Clan Statistics page as well as the Healing & Hunting page
PP can be gained in three ways: in the Prey Pile channel, patrols, or normal rolls
Only hunter, fishers, and their apprentices are allowed to roll in the Prey Pile channel. Each character is allowed one successful hunt per moon in the channel. A thread should be opened and staff will roll a random prey animal. Then the character can proceed with attacking it how they please. If their attack matches or passes the DV of the prey, the PP will be added to the total and a checkmark added to their spot in the Healing & Hunting sheet.
After collecting three checkmarks, the character will earn a SPD point. When maxed in SPD, the earnings go to INN and then maxing INN puts points in STR. If all three physical stats are maxed out to 100, checking off three successes adds an extra 1 PP to the count.
A natural 20 attack roll will add two checkmarks and double the PP of the prey that was caught.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
These only apply to rolls in the Prey Pile
DRY SEASON: During the dry season, prey is harder to find and requires a tracking roll before an attack. This can be sight, hearing, or scent. A character can only proceed with an attack if their tracking was successful
WET SEASON FESTIVAL: During the moon of the Wet Season Festival, the DV of prey is decreased by 1.
During patrols, any prey animals successfully killed will be added to the PP count upon the patrol's completion.
In normal rolls, any character is allowed to attempt to hunt for their points for the moon. They may pick anything they would normally do on patrols as the way to kill their prey. A random prey animal will be rolled to be the victim by staff.
Apprentices consume the most since they are very active and kits the least since they are nursing at the beginning of their lives.
The 1 PP for nursing or pregnant cats is additional to their already required 1.5 PP from being an adult. Nursing cats are no longer counted when the kit(s) they are nursing reach 2 moons old.
In the event that the clan does not get enough PP during a moon, this chart shows the priority of who is fed first. The leader always eats last as they have multiple lives.
If a cat has not been fed to full in three moons, they will pass away. This is only for NPCs unless someone wishes to opt into this feature with their PC. The priority for character death may be different than the normal priority for plot reasons.
PCs may be chosen as cats that didn't eat their whole fill for a moon but we will never allow a player character to die without expressed permission.
The Crafter's Log runs a bit differently from the other similar channels. In the Crafter's Log, a thread is made with a goal in mind set by the chiefs or leader and all crafters and their apprentices are encouraged to roll in the thread to obtain the goal together.
Goals will have a number of successes required and a DV to pass to obtain those successes. Cats get one roll per day in any open thread in the channel. If they pass, the number of successes increases. Natural 20s will increase the number by 2. Natural 1s, however, decrease the number. Regular fails do not effect the number.
Once the goal is met, the objective is complete and points are awarded to the cats who earned the most successes towards the goal. The amount of cats being awarded points will very based on how many successes were required to complete the goal.
