Mods will keep your stat sheet safe and set it up for you, all you'll have to do is refer to it when making rolls.
Every cat in Sunset Plains has six stats that can be improved up to 100 points.
All kittens are born with a 1 in each stat.
The six stats are below:
Charisma
(CHA)
How well others like you
Creativity
(CRE)
How creative you are
Intelligence
(INT)
How smart you are
Intuition
(INN)
How good your senses are
Speed
(SPD)
How fast you are
Strength
(STR)
How strong you are
Modifiers apply to each stat based on how high or low it is.
The modifiers are as follows:
This means all newborn kits will have a -2 modifier to everything.
1-5 = -2
6-15 = -1
16-20 = 0
21-40 = +1
41-60 = +2
61-80 = +3
81-99= +4
100 = +5
There are twenty-one skills your cat can have rolls based on and they all fall into one of the stat categories.
They are as follows:
CHA: Charming, Intimidation, Leadership
CRE: Carving, Crafting, Performance, Weaving
INT: Healing, Plant Identification, Religion
INN: Hearing, Scent, Sight, Stealth
SPD: Athletics, Reaction Time, Running, Swimming
STR: Biting, Grappling, Scratching
HIT POINTS (HP) AND DEFENSE VALUE (DV)
HP is calculated by your character's INN, SPD, and STR added together, divided by three, and added to 19. This means newborn kits have, by default, 20 HP. The max HP for any character is 120, while elders max at 80.
When a character drops to 0 HP, they do not die unless this is the desired result. They will, instead, faint and no longer be able to participate in combat.
DV is calculated by your character's SPD and STR modifiers added together, then added to 10. This means newborn kits have, by default, 6 DV. In order for an attack to land, it must be equal to or greater than the DV of the target.
When a character returns to camp after a patrol with 50% or less of their total HP, they must stay in the healers den until they are back over 50% of their total HP. A character may not go on another patrol until their HP is 75% or higher.
Whether a character is confined to the healers' den or not, HP regain is the same. After returning from a patrol, each day characters earn back 1 more HP then they did the previous day. Healers can roll once per day to expedite the healing process of a cat of choice. All HP regain will be recorded in the Healers' Log channel on Discord. Stat sheets should be updated when milestones such as 50%, 75%, and 100% HP are reached. The Discord channel will be a more up-to-date reference of character HP.
An example of regain with no healer rolls is below.
HOW TO EARN POINTS
On age up, every character is allowed one "age up point" per moon. A thread will be made for you to claim these.
Among the characters who have claimed their free point, a roll will be made for someone to earn another. Once your character has earned this extra point, they will no longer be eligible for it.
Additional points can be earned by rolling in one of the dice rolls chats. Every rank has a limit on how many points they can earn during a moon. A successful roll, so long as the character has not reached their earning limit for the moon, will grant one point. With a natural 20, you will gain two points. A natural 20 will only count as one towards the cap for your character's rank, not as two.
Kits are allowed to earn one point per moon and get an optional second try on their rolls. After earning your point, you may still roll for things, you just cannot earn another point until the next moon.
Apprentices can earn points five times per moon and get an optional second try on their rolls.
Adult cats can earn points three times per moon and can only roll once per day.
You can also earn points from patrols. Points earned in patrols do not count toward the stat gain cap. Upon completing a patrol, your character will receive a point from the highest successful roll they made during a successful encounter. More information on patrols can be found in the player handbook.
BONUSES
Once a character reaches 20 in a stat, they can add a +1 bonus to any skill in that stat.
Every 10 points in a stat after 20 (ex: 30, 40, 50, etc), a +1 bonus may be added to any skill in that stat. These can stack.
A mod will contact you when you have received a bonus to ask you where you would like that bonus placed!
Extra bonuses can be earned from time to time! Events, a special roll such as birthday or maxing out a stat, or a natural 20 in religion may all give extra bonuses!
CONDITION EFFECTED BONUSES
Cats with special conditions get positive and/or negative bonuses to certain skills. See the chart here for most current examples!
Bonuses can be earned back for some conditions but not all.
Ex: a blind cat cannot earn bonuses in sight but a cat missing a leg could earn bonuses back in running
AGE RELATED STAT CAP
Once a character reaches 100 moons, their INN, SPD, and STR cap at 60. This means any stat with a value of over 60 will decrease to 60. Their bonuses and modifiers will remain. You can continue to earn CHA, CRE, and INT up to 100.
RANKING UP AND BECOMING A MENTOR
Kits: In order for a kit to rank up into an apprentice, the kit must have a total of 8 earned stat points. The stats they are born with do not count as earned. These 8 can be across all stats or all in one, as long as they have 8 total, they will rank on their sixth moon.
If they do not have 8 points yet, don't worry, you have until the kit is 10 moons old to get the points. When a kit reaches 10 moons and does not have enough points to rank, they will die in the way you indicated in their bio. If a litter kit has not earned enough points by their sixth moon, the parents of the litter have full permission to revoke the kit.
Mentors will be chosen by staff based on personality, stats, plots, and the need of the clan.
Apprentices: Depending on what rank an apprentice is training for will depend on what they need to rank up. The chart below highlights requirements for all the current available ranks. An apprentice can rank up at 15 moons old at the earliest, but apprentices get until they are 22 moons old to acquire enough points to rank. When an apprentice reaches 22 moons and does not have enough points to rank, they will die in the way you indicated in their bio.
Elders: In order for anyone to become an elder, they must either have an extreme injury that prevents them from doing their job or reach the minimum retirement age of 80 moons. At 100 moons, cats are forcibly retired by the leader.
Upon retirement, your stats will decrease as stated above in the AGE RELATED STAT CAP section.
Becoming a Mentor: A cat is eligible to become a mentor when they have 41 or more points in their role's preferred stat. Your cat can only become a mentor if you are not on hiatus and have earned 15 or more bones during the current season.
Staff may make a ticket and approach you if they are interested in making your character a mentor. You may decline or accept the offer. If you are inactive with your apprentice, you will run the risk of losing them.
