To earn more stats per moon as well as prey for the clan, you may want to send your characters on patrol.
The Requests channel in our server hosts a thread called GO ON PATROL where you may sign up for a patrol run by one of the Patrol Runner staff members.
You have the option to fill out a form to list all the cats you wish to patrol with or sign up an individual cat. Individual cats have the choice to be accompanied by NPCs or added to patrols with others.
Patrols have to have at minimum 1 fighting rank adult, 1 catching rank adult, and 1 healer adult.
Apprentices are encouraged to join but there must be an adult of their rank on the patrol as well! Said adult does not have to be their mentor but patrolling with your mentor does have a benefit!
Cats of other ranks are welcome to tag along as well, except for caretakers and elders.
The maximum number of cats allowed to participate in a single patrol is 13.
You are allowed to participate in as many patrols per moon as you'd like but there is a limit to how many sign ups a character can be a part of at a time. If your character is actively participating in a patrol, they may also be signed up for a future one. Only once that next patrol is started can they be signed up again.
Characters also have to have enough HP to patrol. A character below 75% HP is not allowed to go on patrol and their sign up will be skipped until they are back at 75% or more.
All patrols have a minimum of 2 encounters and a maximum of 5.
The type of encounter is picked by the Patrol Runner rolling a d6.
1-3 = prey
4 = other
5-6 = threat
There are multiple things that can happen on an "other" encounter. The options are rolled from a small list that includes getting an item or advantage on rolls!
Once the encounter type has been decided, the creature is rolled from the Encounter List in the Player Handbook.
All prey encounters have to goal of depleting the creature's HP to bring it home to the clan while the threats have different ways to deal with them. Not even the strongest cat can kill a giraffe!
Turn order is decided when every character rolls reaction time. The opponent creature rolls their SPD which may or may not have a modifier depending on the species. These numbers are arranged in descending order and the encounter begins!
Below is a template for Patrol Runners and a guide to symbols that may be used during a patrol!

During combat, there are many actions your character can choose to do. There are actions and bonus actions. During their turn, a character can do a maximum of one of each.
If a player wants their character to do a bonus action, they must state that along with their action to the Patrol Runner when summoned for their turn. Sometimes you may choose to do a bonus action that doesn't get performed because the conditions aren't right, they do not roll over to the next round.
Combo actions can replace a regular action. They are for two cats of the same rank. The two cats can be both adults or an apprentice and an adult. Performing a combo action will take place on whoever's turn is first and must be agreed upon between players. A combo action takes up both characters' turns for the round. There are no consequences to natural 1s on combo moves other than a failure.
An encounter will end with the enemy drops to 0 HP or runs. Characters faint when reaching 0 HP but can be healed and return to battle. They will only die if their player says so.
See the charts detailing all the actions able to be taken, what skill/stat to roll, and what they do in the PLAYER HANDBOOK !
After a patrol has been completed, each member's highest roll will award them a point or 2 if their highest roll was a natural 20. If a character has multiple rolls tied for the highest, they may choose where to put their earnings.
Apprentice and mentor pairs patrolling together will also each earn a CHA point upon completion of a patrol together.
Any prey caught will be logged in the Prey Pile and HP lost will be logged in the Healer's Log.
