Waivers
IF YOU COME TO WATER PRACTICES, YOU MUST SIGN THE WAIVER:
https://www.webscorer.com/register?raceid=123548
Select "Visitor 1st 3 practices" for Membership if you are unsure about doing dragon boat this year. You will not need to pay anything.
- Select "Regular Adult Member" for Membership if you are ready to commit to dragon boat for the season.
If you select this option, you will need to pay $110 Club Sake dues which cover insurance, moorage, boat maintenance, paddles, life jackets, and other costs involved in running a non-profit club. We would not exist as a team without Club Sake.
Dues
For those who want to test the waters - literally - don't worry about dues until you've gotten at least 3 practices in. After 3 practices is when you should decide if committing to the team feels right or not.
Club Sake Dues
As highlighted above, $110 Club Sake dues cover insurance, moorage, boat maintenance, paddles, life jackets, and other costs involved in running a non-profit club. We would not exist as a team without Club Sake. They are due after your third practice on the water.
Sunrise Team Dues
We ask each member for $50 Sunrise dues to offset some of the team costs over the course of our 6-month season. Please note that there are additional fees for races.
For the competitions we have planned this year, race day fees range from $30-$50 per person per race and will also cover paddlers' food for that day.
*Please pay these dues by your third weekend of water practice to our team Venmo account: "@Sunrise-dragonboat" or make checks payable to our Treasurer with "Sunrise Dragon Boat team dues" in the comment line.
Why team dues?
Throughout the season we need to pay for a number of team expenses, the biggest cost of which is race fees that can be up to $2000 per race. Oftentimes, we will need to register for races before the race roster is selected, so we ask everyone to contribute to the team treasury so that we have an available pool of money to pay for races.
Other costs include numerous team get togethers, post-race parties, and marketing materials, which are part of your experience with Sunrise and also part of helping the team grow. The team fee helps offset these costs on the front end to avoid individual team members having to front the cost and *hopefully* get paid back (which has been an issue in the past).
If you have any questions or concerns at all, Contact Us directly or talk to the captain directly at practice.

Bottoms: quick dry tights, capris, swim-trucks, rain pants
Feet: cheap flip flops or water shoes or crocs
Face: cheap sunglasses to keep water out of your eyes, sunblock
Don't bring anything else on the boat, except a bottle of water.
Changing after practice:
You will be wet after practice, so when the weather is cold, it is highly recommended to change right away. There are no lockers, the closest thing is a single stall bathroom in a Starbucks across the street. So get used to changing in cars.
