It involves 20 paddlers, 1 drummer, and 1 tiller. Competitive races are usually 500 meters and takes around 2 to 2.5 minutes to complete.
There is no better feeling than getting a true sense of where you really are and how much you have improved. It doesn't feel half bad wiping the floor with your competitors either.
The moment that the entire boat has paddled as one is challenging to get to, but amazing to accomplish.
They are fun, nerve wracking, and an awesome opportunity to get to know your teammates better.
They are what you and your teammates make of it. Creating new experiences and memories. Adrenaline running, exhilarating, heart pounding, team bonding.
There is a crack team working tirelessly behind the scenes to take care of everything from applications, food, transportation and much more. The team has to be a machine both on and off the boat.

Here is a general check list of what to bring to race day:
- Paddle (If you don't have one, the race will provide it)
- Life jacket/PFD (If you don't have one, the race will provide it)
- Team uniform (Newbies will get theirs at the race)
- Foldable chair/mat to sit on
- Shoes/sandals
- Sunscreen
- Rain jacket
- Change of clothes
- Towel (Optional)
