How We Operate
As a small business out of Seattle, Washington, we are able to care for our tight-knit team. Our goal of putting out the best products we can requires us to work together integratively and cohesively, so naturally, we use the large amount of communication to our advantage. We believe work should never be something you don’t look forward to. We want our team to be made up of genuine friendships and respect, not an awkward half-relationship with coworkers. Being a part of Sunnies should mean being a part of something more than a brand: it should be working together on a common goal that we all believe will help change the world. As individuals, our work ethic, appropriate response to situations, idea development, and how we treat others is all a part of our culture here at Sunnies.
Figuring Our Your Job Is Our Job
Success for the team means success for all of us. And we want to set you up for success. As a cohesive team, individually, we must understand tasks at hand, how to handle situations, and how to work individually so we CAN work together. After all, our mission of helping people live to the fullest includes our team. There is a place for all careers here.
Nutritionists
As a nutritionist for Sunnies, the tasks you have will be similar to any other nutritionist career, but the audience will not be individuals. When talking about customers or patients, we are looking at the Sunnies community of customers. Nutritionists here help develop recipes for our products, bring new ideas to the table on how to improve the nutrition of our foods, use the information from researchers to apply nutritional discoveries to recipes, and much more.
Chef/Bakers
Our chefs and bakers spend their time primarily in our test kitchens, with occasional on-site or remote tasks and research as well. The goal for our chefs and bakers is to work on a team to come up with the result from recipes made primarily by the nutritionists. Chef input on recipes is also important to us, but the majority of these will be monthly meetings of review of potential recipes. In the test kitchens, the chefs will prepare their take on the recipes given to them. We always allow room for change by the chefs as they bring developments to life. Each job description can be adjusted and potentially catered to the individual as different circumstances arise.
Research Specialists
Research specialists at Sunnies have the job of analyzing case studies, lab studies, experiments, and statistical numbers of current and potential ingredients, vitamins, minerals, and nutrition of foods we use at Sunnies. We believe in doing the best for our customers, which includes knowing our ingredients and what we are putting out on the market. Detailed reports will be used at meetings to cover what we should focus on for our new and current products. Understanding how this plays a role in the quality of our products is huge and is one of the most important jobs in our company.
