You may also drop payment off at the main church office Monday - Friday from 9:00 - 4:00. My child has a food allergy, can we make a special request for their lunches?
With our large group orders we can not guarantee special dietary options. If your child has special dietary needs that are not met with the choices listed, please plan to bring their lunch.
If my child is bringing lunch from home do they need to carry it around with them?
If your child is bringing a lunch be sure it has their first and last name clearly labeled. Lunches will be placed on tables by team color each morning. Don't forget to pick up your lunch box from the tables at the end of each day.
What if I forget to bring my child's lunch. Can they purchase it themselves?
Lunches are pre-ordered but we always order extra just in case - so we will most likely have some available for purchase last minute. If you arrive and realize you forgot to bring your child's lunch, just stop by the registration desk and you can purchase a lunch for $7. We will update your child's nametag to reflect the change so they can go through the line and receive a lunch.
I ordered the wrong size T-shirt for my child. How can I change it?
T-shirts are available in sizes ranging from Youth Medium to Adult Large. Just email us at SummerSing@idlewild.org by 06/01 if you need to change your t-shirt size.
Do the t-shirts run big or small?
The T-shirt sizes run pretty standard. Click here to see sizing details.
When will we find out our child's assigned classes?
Your child will receive their schedule of classes on the first day of SummerSing EXCEPT for classes like Cello, Guitar, Say Cheese, Scrapbooking, & Violin Because these classes will need time to prepare or provide something, we will let you know if you are in one of those classes 2 weeks before SummerSing.
Where do we park to drop off our child?

If the cell phone is out during the day, we will check it in at the registration desk and it may be checked out there at the end of the day.
How should my child dress for SummerSing?
Dress for the week is casual. Please dress comfortably and be prepared, in some classes you may get dirty! Each student will be assigned a team color on Monday (7/14) and will get their shirt at the end of the day to help them in dressing the rest of the week in their team color. For the Thursday, July 17th presentation students will need to wear their SummerSing t-shirt & appropriate length blue jean shorts, skorts, skirts, or capris.
What happens on Family Night and when does my child need to be there?
Family Night is on Thursday 7/17. The evening starts with an optional dinner that will be served from 5-6:30 in the Gatheria. Next, from 6-6:55, we will have Sneak Peek where parents can see displays from all the classes, meet the leaders, get information and see what your child has done in their classes. At 6:55, all participants will report to the stage in the Worship Center to start the show. We will have videos & some live performancs from some classes followed by our mini musical presentation. At 8:05, the program should be done and we will dismiss participants by team color. Dismissal cards will be required to pick up your child so don't forget to have a picture of yours on your phone!
My child uses a wheelchair, can he still participate in SummerSing?
If your child has any physical limitations that may require assistance, like wheelchair or crutches, let us know and we can work that in to their travel route. There are many class options available that can be enjoyed by those with physical limitations. If you need help choosing, let us know by emailing SummerSing@idlewild.org. We are happy to help!
My child needs to take medication during the day. Do I need to come in to give it to her?
If your child has a medication they may need to take, please be sure to come early to registration on July 14th and check it in with the nurse. We can not administer the medicine, but they can come to the nurse’s station and take the medicine themselves when needed.
My child is used to having a Special Needs shadow assigned to them during events. Can you provide that?
If your child has ADD/ADHD or Autism (or a similar condition) and you think they will need a shadow to give them one on one attention during their classes, please let us know in advance by emailing SummerSing@idlewild.org. Ideally, we would have a parent or a family member serve as their shadow if they are available. If not, we are usually able to set up a shadow for them. If they are in a traditional classroom at school, let us know if there are any special accommodations they receive that we should try to mirror.
Does SummerSing assign homework?
Some classes have “optional” homework for participants. This could be practicing exercises on a musical instrument, taking pictures, memorizing verses to earn points for their team, etc. In order to gain the most from the week your child should do what they can. We realize it is not always possible for children to complete everything but want to provide all that we can.
How do we get the music to practice for the SummerSing mini-musical?
Music CDs or downloadable mp3s are usually available starting 6/1. You will receive an email at the email address you list in your registration with details on how to get your copy.
If my child is sick can they still come to SummerSing?
If your child is sick, please do not bring them to SummerSing unless they have been fever free for 24 hours.
What do i do if i need a friend to pick up my child?
If someone else is picking up your child, please give them a Drop-Off/ Dismissal card. You may text them a picture of the card to be shown on their phone and we will honor that for pickup. If this is not possible, they will need to check in with photo identification at the Welcome Center 2 desk before pickup to get a replacement card. Replacement cards will only be issued to those listed on your child’s approved pick up list.
How do I add someone to my child's approved pickup list?
If you need to add to your approved pickup list you may send an email to SummerSing@idlewild.org from the email account you used to register your child requesting the name of the person to be added and the name of the child whom they are approved to pick up.
