We enjoy taking our practice sessions outdoors at a local park and letting the wind add lift to our veils! Between rehearsals, whenever a good beat is playing, we love to "bellydance jam" as the music moves us. You might even have to pause the music to get us to stand still long enough to pose for some photos while at a special event.
Here is one of our memorable practice sessions at Mohegan Park.
An appreciative onlooker hands out some High-Fives after watching our veil dance routine. "That was Awesome! The wind fought with you for a little bit, but you cant control that. The choreography was great. Listen to this woman (pointing to our instructor). She knows what she's doing!"
Taking the wind direction into consideration can change things for the better. We chose a different orientation and reset the camera to have another go at our "Dreamweaver" routine with veils.
When we work with the wind rather than against it, our veil work is lifted beautifully!
