Zoom is a non-encrypted video conferencing app that Suffolk DSA uses and is suitable for hosting large meetings and webinars. We have both a chapter account as well as a shared account from national DSA.
All Suffolk DSA Leadership (Steering Committee and the co-chairs of all the Committees and Working Groups) have access to the chapter Zoom, but we ask you please check availability not only in the meeting calendar (when signed into Zoom) but also to the Suffolk DSA Calendar (on our website) to try and make sure your meeting is not in conflict with any other planned chapter activities.
Suffolk DSA uses Zoom for our chapter meetings, and if available also uses it for Leadership meetings. While Zoom is also open to any Committee (Cm) or Working Group (WG) event or action, co-chairs can also use Google Meet or Jitsi if that is their preference as long as they make sure that info is in their meeting details in their respective calendar (or in the calendar submission form).
Only current Steering Committee members have the shared national DSA Line Zoom login info; This national account is useful when the chapter has a teach-in so that we are able to use the webinar feature, the appropriate Cm or WG co-chair should be in touch with a member of SC to check availability of the national DSA shared Zoom and to set it up as needed.
