Follow these steps from the AN Guide for how to upload: https://help.actionnetwork.org/hc/en-us/articles/360000270663-Uploading-events-via-spreadsheet
Your sign in sheet or member list should be in a .csv format with proper headers and must contain the following fields (at a minimum): first name, last name, email, cell phone, zip code.
You can create or add a tag if this is not a routine membership list upload (only a member of Steering Committee should be uploading the membership lists into AN).
This can help track who showed for the event and will help you easily reach back out to your RSVP's. An example of a tag "Housing Justice Working Group Rally 8/15/2021". This helps build your list of subscribers and keeps people routinely informed of announcements and meetings.

When uploading a CSV to Action Network make sure you match Email to Email in the match field.
Membership lists are emailed to the Membership email weekly on Thursdays from the email address: no-reply@actionkit.com; they are "cleaned up" and run through our Airtable Membership base before being exported from there and finally uploaded into Action Network at the end of every month.
The Membership Coordinator will be automatically sent the membership list from National DSA weekly, on Thursdays. These files will come as a zip file and when unzipped will be a CSV file. While you can upload to Action Network frequently as you like, the easier thing to do is to upload once a month (at the end of the month).
This process will also require you to use the membership base in Airtable and to then download the refined table view as a CSV to upload into Action Network, but first you will need to do some preliminary clean up of the original file you receive from National.
Once you have the original CSV file you can open in the program of your choice that can read CSV files (Google Sheets, Excel, Numbers, etc).
There are some not very useful columns (for our purposes) that you can delete immediately; find and select the columns that are titled:
Do_Not_Call
p2ptext_optout
And delete selected columns.
You can also find and delete the column:
DSA_chapter
As this is a filter National uses to send us only the members in Suffolk County and is for us, extraneous information.
One final "clean up" is to the take the very first column:
AK_ID
And move it to the very last column. Now save this "cleaned up" CSV (and make sure it is saved as a CSV), with the prefix of MONTH YEAR - Membership List.
This is the "cleaned up" CSV file you will upload into Airtable and from there you can then download a specific view as a CSV (for example; the Members in Good Standing view) and upload that into Action Network (and tag appropriately or as necessary).
These steps (preliminary clean up, upload into Airtable, and creating new CSV file from Airtable view) are necessary steps that must be done to the original cvs list sent from National DSA to the Membership Coordinator, as Action Network's tools would not allow for the refining that Airtable is able to do.
*Event Sign-ins/Interest in SCDSA Email List should ALWAYS be digital for security reasons.
You should share this shortened link (bit.ly/SCDSAEventSignIn) or the QR Code, pictured here, (save in your camera roll) with folks at an event so they can sign in on their own device.
