THEME

The theme from this issue is Test H2O. The reason for the chosen theme is due to the fact that this is our first issue. So we would like to see if there would be any welcome from UNIMAS staff and students as this is our first comeback after so many years. Hence, the chosen image for our header: a person holding a large water droplet against the vast, blue sea. We believe it symbolizes purity -- a fresh start and strong faith -- the water droplet didn't break in the person's hand. For your information, each header for each issue, we will choose images that match our themes. Stay tuned and we thank you for the immense support!

BACKGROUND OF SISWARA

SISWARA -- derived from 'Suara Siswa'. In English, it simply means, 'the voices of the students'.

Formerly known as Citra Lingua Siswa (CLS) and was pioneered by Mr. Chuah Kee Man. Now, he passes down the legacy to a group of bustling, proactive and committed youths of Faculty of Language and Communication to give a new breath for the comeback of this digital magazine. So, welcome aboard on our very first issue of SISWARA! ;)

OBJECTIVES

There are three objectives for the comeback of this magazine:

• To encourage students to explore what does Sarawak (including nearby states and countries) have to offer by making a column for travelling.
• To tackle the talents of UNIMAS students by allowing them to submit their artworks to be published on this site.
• To reach out to everyone in UNIMAS and try to help them get out of their comfort zone.
