• Location: La Fortuna, Costa Rica

• Partner with the local community on a sustainable farming service project

• Experience Costa Rica’s culture through hands-on activities

• Adventure highlights include rafting, hot springs, and a volcano hike

• Open to students in Learning for Independence (LFI) programs in MCPS schools

• Each student will travel with an adult chaperone

March 28-April 4

• Location: Trujillo, Spain & Madrid, Spain

• Partner with a local school and language academy to participate in a cultural and language exchange with Spanish teens in Trujillo

• Practice Spanish in authentic, real-world settings

• Activities include a flamenco lesson and soccer with local students

• Conclude in Madrid with a walking tour, flamenco show, and a visit to a world-renowned museum

• 30 SSL hours (includes mandatory pre-trip meetings)

June 20-28

• Location: Antigua, Guatemala & Lake Atitlán

• Partner with a local organization to support primary and secondary schools and complete a community service project

• Engage in cultural exchange with Guatemalan students and community members

• Experience Guatemalan culture, through crafts, food, and local markets

• Adventure highlights include hiking, and exploring Lake Atitlán

• 30 SSL hours (includes mandatory pre-trip meetings)
