Welcome to St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Grand Island, Nebraska. We invite you to look around and get a feel for things. If you are not currently a member of our church, we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to one of our weekly services. And of course, feel free to reach out and contact one of our pastors. We are home to an award winning Childcare and Preschool Center. For more information about our Childcare and Preschool click here. We hope you and your family will have a spirit-filled experience with us as we worship and celebrate Christ together at St. Pauls.

Reminder for In-Person Worship Services

We, the pastors and Church Council, are requiring people to social distance and wearing a mask during worship service. Worship services will look a little different, there will be pews be designated for each service. (Green taped pews are for the 9:00am service, and blue taped pews are for the 11:00am service.) Ushers will seat people. Offering baskets will be at the front and back to place your offering in. Communion will be by wafer and individual cup. We will have the service on the screen to follow. May God bless us as and give us safety as we begin in-person worship again.

COVID Update 04-15-21:

Council has decided to continue to require masks for worship. We decided to follow our local (CDHD) health department guidelines, which is to continue masking "in public settings, at events, and gatherings." We understand and share the eagerness to get back to "normal," but we are mindful of the possibility of transmission of the virus with or without vaccinations. In addition, there is no way of knowing who is, and who is not, vaccinated, and St. Pauls will not be asking for this information from its attendees. We have also come to this decision to be consistent with the Gospel’s call to do what is loving for one another, and especially for those most vulnerable. We continue to monitor the situation, we will adjust accordingly to a change in health department recommendations and will, of course, discuss it at the May meeting. There are a few changes in worship for now:

  1. 1-2 communion deacons will soon be helping at each service (we will still commune one side of the church at a time)

  2. Offering plates will be brought forward by the ushers during the appropriate time in the service; we will not be passing the plates, but this is to allow for more sacred handling of our offerings.

  3. The pastors will remove their mask when preaching

Easter Season Decorations

I hope everyone had a blessed Easter! The Day of Pentecost is May 23d, so we will be taking down the decorations on Monday, May 24th at 5pm. The Easter decorations aren't as extensive as the Christmas decorations, but any help is welcome!

Thanks, Andrea

Friday, August 20th through Sunday, August 22nd, 2021. This trip is open to all St Pauls women and their friends. We will stay at Sunnybrook Camp near Valentine, Nebraska.

Cost: Approximately $175. This includes housing, canoe/kayak rental, gas for trip and small expenses needed for camping. Our cabin has stove, refrigerator etc. so we will plan our own meals. We can also use the fire ring for outdoor cooking and/or s’mores.

We do need to let Sunnybrook Camp know how many women are com- ing, and how many canoes or kayaks we will need, so please let Molly Holcher know by June 1st if you think you can come or if you want more information. Contact the church office to request Molly's contact info.
