St. Pauls Lutheran Church
Welcome to St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Grand Island, Nebraska. We invite you to look around and get a feel for things. If you are not currently a member of our church, we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to one of our weekly services. And of course, feel free to reach out and contact one of our pastors. We are home to an award winning Childcare and Preschool Center. For more information about our Childcare and Preschool click here. We hope you and your family will have a spirit-filled experience with us as we worship and celebrate Christ together at St. Pauls.
What's Going On?
This Sunday evening Legacy Journey will be beginning this Sunday night on February 17 at 7 PM. Kits are $129.99 and a one year membership is included. The first week is always free to attend. The class will meet in the Fireside Room.
LENTEN WORSHIP SERIES
Lenten Series on Wednesday at 11:00 AM and 7:00 PM – “By My Hand, For My Sake” – On Wednesdays in Lent beginning March 6, our worship services will include monologues from biblical figures whose lives and interests contributed to the death of Christ. As we hear their stories, we will be invited to ponder how our own lives and choices required Christ’s example of radical love and sacrifice on the cross, or how we proclaim his resurrected life within us. Join us for a meal on Wednesday evenings prior to worship in the fellowship hall.
We invite you to bring your palm branches back for the burning of ashes for Ash Wednesday, on March 6. Branches may be placed in the basket in the Gathering Area.
TABLES OF GRACE
Friendship and fellowship is the goal of the newly organized program “Tables of Grace”. We are inviting all members who are interested in coming together in their home to share a meal. Please complete the insert to sign-up form below and return to the church office by Sunday, March 3. Any questions, please call 308-382-2973.
SUNDAY SCHOOL ROTATION
Presently, our rotating sessions on the baptism of Jesus are coming to a close. After celebrating and sharing a bit of what we’ve learned in worship on February 3rd, we will spend 5 Sundays learning about the Lord’s Prayer (February 10 – March 10) and then five more Sundays during Lent learning about The Last Supper and foot-washing on the night when Jesus was handed over (March 17-April 13). On the Sunday after Easter, we will begin two weeks of learning about Easter, and the year will conclude with a GRASP/cross-generational event on May 12.
St. Pauls Mission Vision Team will be organizing a Ministry Fair to be held with the beginning of the upcoming Lenten Season. Ministry Fairs provide an opportunity to recruit volunteers and increase congregational involvement. The Fair will give us the opportunity to prayerfully consider sharing our time and talents.
