LGBTQ+

"What is LGBTQ+?

The term LGBTQ+ is intended to emphasise a diversity of sexuality and gender identity-based cultures and is sometimes used to refer to anyone who is non-heterosexual or non-cisgender, instead of exclusively to people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or transgender."

You can make a self-referral to their one-to-one support service.

"We provide practical and emotional support for LGBTQI+ people seeking asylum to help improve their confidence and self-esteem and reduce isolation. We provide specialist legal information and advice, and campaign to improve the treatment of people seeking asylum.

We also provide legal advice and information to LGBTQI+ people who want to live in the UK with their partners."

"Rainbow Home supports people who have fled their countries due to persecution for being lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or other members of the LGBTQ community.

We want to help people to find their feet, to feel safe and welcome here and to help them to understand what they need to do to present their case for asylum.

We do this by providing a safe and confidential space with specialist support from people who really understand the challenges of both seeking asylum and of being LGBTQ. We also help our members with their day-to-day challenges and create opportunities for socialising and taking part in activities.

We believe that everyone has the right to be heard, and to be themselves without fear."
