Warm Spaces in Stockton-on-Tees

Many households are struggling with the cost of living, including the steep rise in the price of their heating and energy bills. Individuals and families are facing tough decisions about whether and when they may be able to afford to heat their home.

To try and help our residents navigate this challenging time, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's A Fairer Stockton-on-Tees team is working with partner organisations to build a Warm Spaces directory.

Warm Spaces are free, non-judgmental public places where people can go to get warm, save money on their heating costs, avoid social isolation, receive vital support and advice while staying as well as possible.

On this page you can read a directory which lists all of the venues who have pledged their support to Warm Spaces in Stockton-on-Tees. Here you can find the one nearest to you, opening days and times, and what facilities are on offer. These spaces will evolve over time to offer a wider range of services so do check back for updates.

If you're struggling to reach a Warm Space and have difficulty accessing public transport, you can apply for a Community Transport pass. Check the Community Transport page for more information on routes and how to apply.

If you or your organisation has a suitable heated venue that could open its doors this winter, the FSOT team wants to hear from you. Visit the Warm Spaces application page to complete the online form.

Council funding support is no longer available for this scheme, however you can still register to be a Warm Space. If you're looking for funding, you can search for available funds through Catalyst Stockton-on-Tees or the Tees Valley Community Foundation. If you wish to become a Warm Space, please complete an application form and a member of the FSOT team will be in contact to advise what support is available.

For wider support and advice, visit the Cost of Living Support Hub.
