About me

I am an associate professor at The University of Oklahoma in the Department of Educational Psychology and teach courses in introductory, intermediate, and advanced statistics. At this point in my career I am particularly interested in making statistics - including advanced procedures - more accessible to students and researchers. For me, it is exciting to see students develop an interest (and, dare I say) passion for quantitative research.

Much of what I have been working on lately is creating content for my Youtube site (link) where I upload videos on a number of different statistical concepts and procedures. In addition to demonstrating procedures using SPSS, I also cover applications involving Stata, MPLUS, LISREL, AMOS, and others.

I conduct research in several different areas, but most of my interests center on questions regarding the role of individual difference factors in educational, social and political functioning. I also enjoy collaborating on research projects with colleagues in other fields of study (I find it stretches me and is a great perspective-builder!).

I am married to the best wife in the world and have four wonderful kids ( five if you count our family pooch)! I am a transplanted Alabamian living in Oklahoma, but still love the Tide!
