Results of the statistic

5-8. Once the results have been calculated a determination about whether or not to reject the null hypothesis can be made. The results are below

An independent-samples t-test was conducted to compare whether or not there was any significant difference in Rotten Tomato scores depending on what studio made the movie. There was not a significant difference in the scores for Universal (M=52.87, SD=24.60) and Warner Bros. (M=55.88, SD=27.41). The results suggest that it does not matter which studio makes a movie and the null hypothesis is the most attractive explanation to support that it does not matter which studio produced the movie, they will have an equal mean (µ) Rotten Tomato score within the population.

(It is also important to note the effect size as another means to understand significant outcomes.)
