SOCIAL STUFF

Saints Way Run

In May, this ever popular and very challenging social event can push runners to achieve mileage they thought they could never do.

This 29 mile run goes from Padstow to Fowey and is a fantastic social event, following the ancient Saints Way trail.

The route contains six legs (each around 4 to 6 miles) and so you can run as few or as many as you wish. We also host have the best refreshment stations you have ever seen!

Could this be the year you complete your first ultra?

Par Inn Social Runs

Every year we have a lovely social run and BBQ from Par Inn towards the Gribben Head - I've even heard tell, that some people make it all the way there!!

We meet at the Par Inn for the annual photograph then all make our way to the beach for another photo opportunity.  Being a very relaxed run concentrating more on the social aspects of the club, there is an opportunity aplenty to get to know other members of the club that you wouldn't normally run with. Also, what better way to finish a run than with food, drink and a chat! This year we had a winter run , with our torches ready and some wholesome food and well deserved pint afterwards.

Thank you to Par Inn for yet more fabulous spreads.

Camping Weekend

One of the benefits of being a STARC member is activities that are designed to include the whole family.  Again this September, the annual camping weekend was held at Meadow Lakes.

The weekend starts with a lovely chilled evening on Friday then up early for Eden Park run Saturday morning.  A perfect way to start the STARC day, ahead of  the real event – ROUNDERS!  To say that it gets competitive,  boys vs girls, is an understatement.  As to who wins, well….!!

The afternoon drifts into the evening with sunshine, friends and a lovely BBQ, to soak up the beer! 🍻

Halloween Run

We do not need to asked twice to dress up, Halloween is no exception! 🎃

Every year we take to the streets of St Austell as ghastly gools and wicked witches.

We're never sure what the public find stranger, our outfits or that we run in the dark, cold and whatever the weather, throughout the winter!

Tinsel Run

STARC members love nothing more than getting into the Christmas spirit!

Every year we get the festive tunes going, the tinsel and lights out and  hit the streets of St Austell.

This is a group session and a fantastic opportunity to run with all the club members, from all paced groups. There is always the odd Christmas tree or elf too for good measure!

Christmas Party

Rounding off 2023 is style is the STARC Christmas party 🎉

This is a lovely opportunity to switch our trainers for heels, dresses and black tie. Members are able to get in the festive spirit with a delicious meal, our annual award ceremony and lots of partying and dancing into the night.

Every year we take the opportunity to acknowledge numerous members for their efforts and their achievements as part of St Austell Running Club.

Check out the Achievements Page to see who won what!

For 2024, STARC are considering some alternative social events. If you have an ideas please let us know.
