Confirmation

The Sacrament of Confirmation is scheduled to be conferred by Bishop Christopher R. Cooke 

on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 4 PM Mass.  

The Sacrament of Confirmation completes our Baptism and strengthens the Gifts of the Holy Spirit in us to enable us to serve our community, the Church, and the world as missionary disciples of Jesus Christ.  

Requirements for the Sacrament of Confirmation

• Previously received the Sacrament of Baptism.

• Completed the recommended formation and preparation.

• In a state of grace, usually having made a recent confession of sins. 

Expectations of Candidates

• Complete the preparation for the sacrament by actively engaging in and participating in scheduled formation sessions.

• Attend the Night of Reflection meeting with their parents and, if available their sponsors to be scheduled for Fall 2025.

• Complete the items in the Confirmation packet by the due dates.  SEE BELOW

  • Prayerfully research and choose a saint - your heavenly guide - whose name you will take at Confirmation.

  • Prayerfully consider whom to choose as your sponsor - your earthly guide - and ask them.  They will need to obtain a Certificate of Eligibility from the Parish in which they are registered.  {Cannot be Mom, Dad, Step-parent or Guardian}

  • Review and be familiar with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia Confirmation Questions  and be prepared to answer them in your own words.

• Attend the Confirmation Retreat 

• Attend the practice for Confirmation Candidates and Sponsors tentatively scheduled for Sunday, April 12, 2026 at 3:00 PM in the Main Church.

Expectations of Parents/Guardians

• Pray for and with your child/ren as they prepare to take this next step in their faith journey.

• Encourage your child/ren as they consider their saint name and sponsor.  

• Encourage and/or participate in your child/ren's Works of Mercy projects.

• Attend the Night of Reflection meeting with their child/ren. 

• Complete the Sacramental Register Information Form.

• Complete payment of the Sacramental Fee of $25.

Expectations of Sponsors

• Pray for and with the candidate as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.  

• Encourage and/or participate in the candidate's Works of Mercy projects.

• If possible, attend the Night of Reflection meeting with the candidate and parents.  

• Provide a Certificate of Eligibility from the parish in which you are registered by January 30, 2026

• Attend the practice for Confirmation Candidates and Sponsor tentatively scheduled for Sunday, April 12, 2026 at 3:00 PM in the Main Church.

• Serve as sponsor at the Confirmation Mass scheduled for Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 4 PM.
