ST. LUCY ATHLETICS - GO LIGHTNING!

We recognize the importance of extra-curricular activities as part of our students’ school experience and our goal of developing the whole child. St. Lucy School is part of the Diocese of San Jose Catholic Athletic League (DSJCAL). The DSJCAL consists of three divisions: North, South and Central. St. Lucy School is part of the DSJCAL Central Division. Teams practice on site and game play is hosted by various schools. We love Lightning home games, and often host on campus tournaments in both basketball and volleyball. We also participate in a culminating multi-school track meet every spring. The St. Lucy Athletic Program is supported by an Athletic Director and a parent volunteer Booster Club.

The Diocese of San Jose's Department of Catholic Schools' elementary and high school principals and athletic directors developed a plan to ensure that staff and students can participate in athletics in the safest possible environment. Students share their school spirit, develop skills, and benefit from camaraderie and teamwork. The DCS consulted and worked closely with CDC, CDPH to create updated DCS Guidelines for Athletics for the 2021-22 school year.
