School Support Volunteer Center (SSVC）
狭山市学校支援ボランティアセンターとは
開かれた学校づくりを進め、地域の教育力を生かした学校への支援を進めることで、子どもたちの「生きる力」を育むことを目的に、
平成19年4月に「狭山市学校支援ボランティアセンター」が狭山台中学校の一室を事務所として開設されました。
（現在の事務所は狭山元気プラザ内）
運営は、さやま市民大学同窓会が受託し、市民ボランティアスタッフで行っています。
狭山市学校支援ボランティアセンターは、学校応援団や地域のボランティアの方々とも連携しながら業務を進め、地域の人材を発掘・養成して、より多くの方に市立小・中学校の支援活動に参加していただくお手伝いをしています。
学校支援ボランティアには、授業のお手伝いをする学習支援や、花壇整備や安全見守りなどの環境支援、図書ボランティア、部活動支援など、さまざまな支援分野があります。市立小・中学校で地域の方々を中心にさまざまな分野で、子どもたちが安全で楽しい学校生活を送れるように支援しています。
学校の支援は資格がなくても、一人でも可能です。趣味や経験を生かすこともできます。
子どもたちを温かく見守る気持ちを持って、学校を活躍の場としてください。
２０２１年度末現在約３４０名の市民がボランティアとして登録し、年間約９０００時間の支援を行っています。
学校を取り巻く環境は大きく変化して来ていますが、ＳＳＶＣの役割として出来ることを、先生方と一緒に考えていきます。
About Sayama City School Support Volunteer Center
The Sayama City School Support Volunteer Center was established in April 2007, using a room in Sayamadai Junior High School as its office, with the aim of fostering children's "zest for life" by promoting the creation of open schools and promoting support for schools utilizing the local educational capabilities. Later, with the consolidation and closing of schools, the office was moved to the Sayama Genki Plaza in September 2015.
The operation of the center is entrusted to the Sayama Citizen's College Alumni Association and is staffed by citizen volunteers. We work with school support groups and local volunteers to promote operations, identify and train local human resources, and help more people to participate in support activities at municipal elementary and junior high schools.
School support volunteers provide a variety of support services, including learning support for classes, environmental support such as flowerbed maintenance and safety monitoring, library volunteer work, and support for club activities. We support children at municipal elementary and junior high schools in various fields with local residents so that they can have a safe and enjoyable school life.
School support can be provided by one person without any qualifications. You can also make use of your hobbies and experience. Please make your school an active place with a warm heart for children. As of the end of FY2021, approximately 340 citizens were registered as volunteers, providing approximately 9,000 hours of support per year.
The environment surrounding schools is changing drastically, such as the shift to community schools and the Corona disaster, but we will continue to work together with teachers to devise ways to do what we can as SSVC.
