Philosophy
San Silvestre School is a school with high academic standards, and provides each of its pupils with the opportunity to achieve their personal goals in a happy, friendly and supportive environment.
The dedicated staff is committed to providing a stimulating environment in which the needs of the girls are met in every dimension of school life: the academic, sporting, cultural, artistic, technological, social, civic and spiritual aspects.
Each girl, from Nursery to the end of Secondary is encouraged to strive to meet her full potential and achieve her own goals; this is made possible by the opportunity to grow in confidence whilst developing a growth mindset.
As a British-Peruvian school, it is absolutely essential that we transmit the intrinsic value of both cultures, strengthening students’ individual skills and encouraging their overall development. Academic rigour, achievement, bilingual language acquisition, social commitment and striving to reach one’s full potential are some of the goals achieved through consistent encouragement and monitoring from a very early age.
That is our motto, which is a true reflection of the philosophy of life that we transmit to the girls who have been entrusted to us. Our goal is to ensure that our students leave school with a high level of self-esteem, confidence, common sense, with the ability to extend themselves, commit themselves, become actively involved in their community and the world and assume responsibility for their own actions. Our girls come to realise that it is through their own endeavours, that they can achieve personal development.
To empower girls, through the provision of a holistic education, to become compassionate proactive citizens of an ever-changing world.
To promote learning as a lifelong process, enabling the students to be contented, confident, knowledgeable, successful, active and committed members of a global society.
To educate girls to take responsibility to meet the challenges of life and reach their potential in a nurturing environment.
To provide an inquiry-based, multilingual curriculum.

Traditionally, at San Silvestre a group of Form V - Form VI pupils are elected school Officials and represent their Councils and San Silvestre in activities inside and outside the school.
They lead the different Councils and work with the Middle and Senior School students who comprise the Councils, but they also have contact and interaction with the Primary and Early Years students in different activities.
