Sra. Dana, Spanish Teacher

Retired Spanish teacher June 2022, M.A., National Board Certified Teacher, Grades K-12, Apple Teacher

Sra. Dana news!

I retired from Cape Elizabeth Middle School at the end of June 2022, after forty years of teaching, the last thirty-one years at CEMS. I've taught pre-school to AP level throughout my career but I'm especially fond of the middle school age group.

I'm excited to continue developing lessons and ideas to share on social media. I want to continue helping students to make global connections using their language skills. I'm also very interested in researching traditional games and their cultural importance.

I will be a substitute teacher in Cape Schools during 2022-23 and I might do some consulting work. I'm still planning my next steps in this new adventure so stay tuned.

July 2022

January 2022: ¡Feliz Año Nuevo! The school year has been much busier than any of use anticipated. Covid Year #2 is just as challenging as Year #1 but students and teachers are adapting.

We recently received posts on our Padlet collaboration with Tafalla, Spain, 7th graders. Cape students described their Thanksgiving traditions and Tafalla students described their December and New Year's traditions. You can view the posts embedded below.

We hope to continue our collaboration throughout the winter and spring.

August 2021: Welcome back! I'm teaching 5th, 7th, & 8th grade Spanish this year, 2021-2022.

My school supply lists are posted below. 📕✏️📓✂️🖍 You don't need all your supplies the first day, aim for after Labor Day. I notice that school supplies are currently low or wiped out in many stores.
