The Purpose of the ISS

The ISS is used to perform experiments in various fields:

•  Biology - In a biological research laboratory, scientists test about plants, microorganisms, and animals in space,

•  Human Physiology - It also studies the human body during long-duration spaceflight and other effects,

•  Materials Science - Scientists study and produce materials with different properties in space,

• Earth Observation - Data about the Earth's atmosphere, ocean, and surface is collected from the station.
