In early learning, children are capable of developing tremendous mathematical skills when guided through Dr. Montessori's beautifully designed materials. With the support of a caring educator, each lesson is introduced in a concrete, hands-on manner. These materials invite curiosity and discovery—what Montessori called the “mystery.”
As the child explores and repeats activities, the guide carefully begins the process of abstraction. Sprouts helps the child's move from physical manipulation of materials to internal understanding, where the child can grasp mathematical concepts without needing the materials anymore.
