ART
Dr. Maria Montessori was a strong proponent of allowing each child to develop their own personal artistic flow in a way that honored their unique manner of expression. The idea of having every child replicate a single model—such as a vase of flowers at the front of the classroom—would have been entirely abhorrent to her approach.
Instead, Montessori classrooms are rich with opportunities for artistic expression woven throughout all academic areas—Sensorial, Mathematics, Language, and Cultural Studies. Children are offered developmentally appropriate lessons that encourage self-expression, not only through structured activities but also through open-ended creative projects.
At Sprouts, we embrace this philosophy wholeheartedly. A wide variety of artistic media and materials are always at the ready, inviting your child to begin their own journey of creative discovery and expression.
