My wishes...

Once I read a quotation of Carl Sagan who wrote that "Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known. " The education is not something to be learnt in the classroom only. It's a life-long excercise anywhere and everywhere. Hence, the students in the Department of Physics in my esteemed college are going to publish an online bulletin titled as 'Spectrum'. It's really amazing to experience the initiative of the students under the noble guidance of the teachers of the department.

It is heartening to learn that the Spectrum, the magazine of the Physics Department, Pandu College, will now be available in online electronic version from March, 2021.

I am extremely delighted & glad to know that the departmental bulletin “Spectrum 2021” is going to publish. “Knowledge is Power”- this bulletin is the collection of thoughts, ideas and creative thinking of young minds. Credit goes to the students who edited and contributed through their writings in “SPECTRUM 2021”.

From Editor's Desk

First and foremost we, on behalf of the editorial board of the SPECTRUM would like to offer our gratitude to the respected Professors, all the authors and the readers and wish a wonderful year ahead.

When a thought that has been enduring in mind becomes real, it is truly an interesting and exciting experience. This new assignment of ours as Editor of the 14th edition of the SPECTRUM is one such cherished work which we have tried to fulfill to the best of our abilities.

It is worth mentioning that 2020 was such a year which had created an immense loss in our academics, and as such, publishing the publishing the bulletin within such short period of time inspite of the hectic schedule was an uphill task. We specially would like to thank our respected HoD madam Dr. Bandana Das, and all the professors-in-charge without whose valuable support and guidance such a difficult task would have been near to impossible. Also, credit goes to all the other members of 5th Semester.

At last, we are happy to inform that this year, we have tried to publish an e-SPECTRUM, for the greater benefit of the readers. The website links for the same has been provided on the cover page.

Though we have tried our best to make the bulletin as perfect as possible, but unwantedly some mistakes may have been unrectified, for which we regret.

About us

The SPECTRUM is an annual bulletin of the Department of Physics, Pandu College. For the last fourteen years, the SPECTRUM has been published by the 5^th semester students of the Department. Like every year, this year too, we have tried to publish 14^th edition of the SPECTRUM.

As the number of hard copies of the bulletin is limited, this year, we have tried to publish the e-SPECTRUM so that we can reach more number of readers.

We will be grateful for any constructive suggestion towards the improvement of the e-bulletin and readers are welcomed to give their valuable suggestions and feedbacks through mail.
