03/10/25 - General Update

The new junction on the A91 is now due to be fully commissioned on 08/09 October 2025. At that time, the existing access to / from Pirnhall Road onto the A91 will be closed and all traffic will use the new signal controlled junction. 

The new junction's operation will be monitored and the timing sequence refined during the first few months of it being live, if need be. 

The proposed preliminary work on land to the east of Muiralehouse Road has been put on hold for the time being.

Stirling Council Planning and Regulation Panel is due to consider the Planning Permission in Principle application for the Stafford Land (the land adjacent to the A91) when it meets on 07 October 2025. 

If the Panel accepts the officer recommendation to approve the application, the Permission will be issued once a Section 75 Agreement (to cover developer contributions) has been concluded between Persimmon Homes and Stirling Council.

03/06/25 - Planning Permission for the "Tough land" (23/00593/FUL) issued by Stirling Council

At the meeting of Stirling Council's Planning Panel of 05 November 2024, Councillors agreed that planning permission should be granted for the development of land north of the former Corbiewood Stadium and east of Muiralehouse Road. That phase of land within the South Stirling Gateway has the potential to deliver a further 95 homes for private sale and 32 affordable homes (application information available here). 

The Section 75 Agreement was subsequently agreed and planning permission issued thereafter. 

25/03/25 - Phase Two Brucefields

Proposals for the second phase of development at Persimmon's South Stirling Gateway site have been submitted to Stirling Council. The proposals include a phase of Charles Church homes which will expand the range and choice of new homes available across the site. A parallel submission has also been made setting out the proposed new junction from Pirnhall Road onto the A872. Information on those proposals can be viewed on Stirling Planning Portal  searching for application reference 25/00119/MSC.

03/03/25 - New South Stirling Gateway Primary School Approved

Stirling Council has approved the details for the new primary school to serve the South Stirling Gateway area. The approved designs can be viewed on Stirling Planning Portal  searching for application reference 24/00657/MSC.  

Work started on the school site in June 2025.
