Youth Programs and Activities

The Chapter's goal in the provision of youth programming is to immerse our forthcoming generations in the discovery of the outdoors--motivating them to discern the values, motivation, skills and responsibility necessary for maintaining the quality of the environment and humanity.

Youth Activities:

  • Trap shooting
  • Maple syrup making
  • Snowshoeing
  • Hunting demonstrations (turkey hunting, sturgeon spearing, duck hunting, etc...)
  • Canoe and kayaking at Collins Marsh
  • Family Fun Day
  • Woodworking events (build bird houses and feeders, bat houses, and butterfly houses)
  • Wood duck house cleaning
  • Stream water monitoring
  • Parades
  • Haunted Trail

Schedule:

Typically, youth meetings and events are planned during the summer months, August through May, on Sunday afternoons. Events are intended for all school-aged youth (gradeschool through high school), and we highly encourage parents to participate in the events as well! You wouldn't want your daughter/son to know more about nature than you, now would you?
